Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Technician to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Health Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting the provision of patient care using telehealth technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Telehealth Support: Assist in the preparation of the clinical environment, including setting up medical and telecommunications equipment for clinical examinations and treatments.
  • Telepresenter: Serve as a telepresenter during clinical video telehealth (CVT) and VA Video Connect (VVC) encounters, establishing and maintaining video conferencing connections and facilitating effective clinical encounters.
  • Imager and Clinical Data Manager: Capture images, collect data, and transmit them electronically for clinical review in accordance with VHA national guidelines.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Receive and schedule requests for telehealth appointments, screen patients for telehealth modality, and refer patients who do not meet established criteria to appropriate care.
  • Technology Management: Configure, install, troubleshoot, clean, and perform minor routine maintenance of assigned telehealth technology, ensuring it is managed appropriately and ready for use.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: One year of experience in a healthcare field, or four academic years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation.
  • Skills and Abilities: Comprehensive knowledge of computer systems and programs, ability to communicate and interact with the healthcare team, and ability to plan and organize tasks.
Working Conditions

The work requires some physical exertion, including standing, bending, and lifting moderately heavy items. The incumbent may be required to travel between VA and/or Non-VA clinical care sites.
