Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Social Worker to join our team at Northside Hospital Inc. as a Lead Oncology Clinical Social Worker. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and clinical skills to oversee the delivery of high-quality psychosocial care to patients and families affected by cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative oversight and leadership to designated cancer programs throughout the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute.
  • Serve as a departmental and organizational lead in area(s) of expertise, providing educational programming and staff development to oncology social workers and staff assigned to the specialty area.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to maintain compliance in Psychosocial Oncology specialty, including oversight of documentation and clinical care delivery for regulatory standards regarding COC and TJC compliance.
  • Provide direct patient care by offering psychological and social work interventions to patients, families, and significant others, removing any psychosocial barriers that inhibit the treatment process.
  • Support patients in meeting their individual needs, coordinating treatment, and assisting with achieving the best possible functional level, maximizing symptom self-management, and enhancing quality of life and recovery.
  • Provide leadership to crisis intervention, distress screening, risk assessments, and connecting patients to community resources.
Requirements
  • Master's degree from an accredited program in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related mental health discipline with an emphasis on clinical experience.
  • Licensed as a LCSW or LPC as relevant, or Georgia Licensure must be obtained within 4 months of hire.
  • Three years of previous psych oncology or psychosocial practice experience.
  • Ability to develop, organize, and implement various programs.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Evidence of an ability to work well with others, a team player.
  • Evidence of teaching skills.
  • Must be CPR certified.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior clinical experience providing outpatient mental health or inpatient psychiatric services.
  • Specialized training in cancer care through continued education and on-the-job experience.
  • Previous experience in staff development.
Work Environment

This role will cover various locations, including Fayetteville, Stockbridge, Lake Oconee, Milledgeville, Macon, Hawkinsville, and Griffin.
