Job Summary

223 Aurora Medical Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant/LPN to join our Family Medicine team. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our medical group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams by obtaining vital signs, gathering and documenting pertinent health information, and monitoring clinical integration and quality improvement measures.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, including strep tests, wound cultures, and specimen collection, using aseptic technique and standard precautions.
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with procedures such as pelvic exams, allergy scratch testing, EMG, cautery, and colposcopy.
  • Administer routine medications under physician or APC orders, including immunizations, antibiotics, vitamins, and topical agents.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare team members to ensure smooth clinic flow and adjust as necessary.
  • May perform basic and advanced clinical support tasks or skills based on specialty and competencies, such as removal of sutures and staples, laboratory procedures, phlebotomy, EKG, spirometry, and Holter monitor application.
Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 45 days.
  • GED or HS Equivalency Diploma.
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years.
  • No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to perform routine and complex technical skills within the Medical Assistant scope of practice after demonstrated competency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop rapport and maintain positive, professional relationships with patients, team members, and physicians.
  • Proficient computer skills, including keyboarding, navigation within a windows operating system, and use of electronic mail with exposure to electronic medical records systems.
Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders throughout the workday. Ability to lift 35 pounds without assistance, with patient handling equipment available for heavier lifts or patient assistance. Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood, and body fluids, with protective clothing and equipment provided as needed.
