Job Summary

The State of Illinois is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse II to serve as an Infection Control Coordinator for the Ludeman Developmental Center. This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team to prevent and control the spread of infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement infection control policies and procedures
  • Monitor and review suspected and proven infections
  • Provide clinical advice and guidance to treatment staff on infection control procedures
  • Collaborate with the Training Coordinator to provide education and training on health and infection control issues
  • Complete mandatory training requirements and participate in continuing education workshops and seminars to maintain professional competency
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved nursing education program resulting in an associate or diploma degree in nursing and two (2) years of progressively responsible professional nursing experience
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
  • Ability to acquire and maintain Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Ability to obtain the Certification of Infection Prevention and Control (CIC) within two years of employment
