Sales Engineer II Job Description

Vanderlande Industries B.V. is seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer II to join our team. As a Sales Engineer II, you will play a crucial role in identifying and analyzing customer needs, developing successful sales concepts, and providing solutions to complex technical and business issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Sales Manager and other sales team members to ensure a successful project sale.
  • Identify and analyze customer needs, and transfer those into a successful sales concept.
  • Provide solutions to complex technical and business issues, including data- and process analyses, and concepts.
  • Lead the client consultation process to find their best solution.
  • Develop competitive, high-quality quotations.
  • Lead the team in concepts and quotation, and be involved in the handover phase to operations and the project implementation phase on site.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create concept solutions based on analysis and understanding of customer logistic processes.
  • Exceptional data analysis and preparation skills.
  • Experience estimating costs and pricing of large complex projects using multiple types (and vendors) of equipment.
  • Ability to understand the use of equipment and assist in its selection and specification.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in commonly used computer software.
  • Analytical ability to understand customer processes, system throughputs and rates, and uses of automation equipment.
  • Well-developed influencing skills, both internal and external.
  • Strong communicational skills, with a creative and efficient approach to building professional client relationships.
  • Experience working within an international professional environment, preferably a project organization.
Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience with complex sales processes, preferably within the automated material handling industry.
  • Experience using 3D modeling tools and common business software.
  • Ability to work effectively in an entrepreneurial international organization, often working across organizational, geographic, and cultural boundaries.
  • Willingness to travel domestically (up to 10-15%) and internationally (up to 5-10% of time).
