The Senior Systems Engineer within the Enterprise Technical Services Team plays a pivotal role in managing the IT infrastructure architecture at The Christ Hospital, focusing on data centers, servers, and server virtualization. This position entails the development, implementation, and oversight of policies and procedures governing all Compute services. The individual will be responsible for the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of these critical resources.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct technical analysis, design, and support for the virtual environment essential for daily operations, system upgrades, and new releases.

- Troubleshoot infrastructure and application issues escalated from technical support teams and application analysts.

- Collaborate with analysts and IT engineers to research, develop, document, test, and deploy new technologies, software updates, and upgrades across the enterprise.

- Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding system configurations and technical components.

- Coordinate with technology and application teams to ensure that infrastructure changes and issues are effectively communicated across the organization.

- Assist in the development of processes and procedures for the support of enterprise applications across regions.

- Engage in enterprise change management processes.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

The following specialized knowledge or skills are essential for fulfilling the duties of this position:

Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Experience: At least eight (8) years of experience in systems integration, data center operations, Windows servers, and server virtualization.

Certifications:

  • Proficiency and/or certification in server operating systems (MS Windows)
  • Proficiency and/or certification in virtualization technologies (VMWare)
  • Proficiency and/or certification in network topologies and implementations (TCP/IP, DNS)
  • Familiarity with Windows-based print queues, file shares, and Active Directory administration
  • Proficiency and/or certification in infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Strong foundation in the design, analysis, and evaluation of IT systems
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and capability to manage complex interdisciplinary projects
  • Understanding of the impact of infrastructure on organizational operations and the interdependencies of complex systems for informed decision-making.
  • Ability to articulate and communicate solutions, impacts, and risks to management as necessary.

Additional Requirements:

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

- Effective management of priorities and tasks

Licenses & Certifications:

Relevant Microsoft and VMware Industry Certifications such as MCP/MCSE, CCA, VCP, or equivalent are required.
