We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager to lead our Detection Engineering team at Databricks. As a key member of our Security organization, you will be responsible for building durable and high-fidelity detections against common attacks and across various log sources and domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hire and manage a team of Security Software Engineers to build a world-class detection platform
  • Support the career development of Security Software Engineers, providing clear feedback and guidance
  • Solve complex Detection Engineering challenges, from data ingestion to precise detector development
  • Innovate and research the threat landscape to develop effective detection strategies
  • Coordinate execution and collaborate across teams to drive cross-cutting projects
Requirements
  • 2-4 years of management experience in Engineering or Security teams
  • Typically 12+ years of experience or advanced degree + 8 years of experience in detection, incident response, and/or threat intelligence
  • Focused on defining and driving efficiencies and improvements within the team
  • Accountable for defining and achieving targets (e.g., OKRs, KPIs) of the team
  • Sufficient domain expertise to review the work of the team
  • Previous experience in building complex Detection Engineering on large data platforms
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and technical expertise on common threats and attacks
  • Knowledge of Machine Learning methods applied to solve Detection Engineering problems

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $182,900 - $323,500 USD, based on factors such as job-related skills, depth of experience, and specific work location.
