Electro-Optical Engineer Internship

The Space Dynamics Laboratory is seeking an exceptional student to join our team as an Electro-Optical Engineer Intern. This internship provides a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies in space-, airborne-, and ground-based systems.

As an intern, you will be tasked with varying duties based on current projects, needed support, and phase of development. You will have the opportunity to work closely with engineers and mentors, and participate in training workshops and networking events.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a degree in optical sciences, optical engineering, photonics, or related field
  • Experience in radiometric analysis
  • Proficient with MatLab
  • Experience with optical design in Zemax
  • Experience with optical alignment, testing, or other related hands-on optical laboratory work
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work closely in a team with students and professionals
  • Ability to take initiative and ask questions
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance

Preferred Qualification:

  • Junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing a degree in an applicable field
  • 3.5 GPA minimum
