About this role

As a Journeyman with Carrier, you will play a critical part in delivering exceptional service to our customers, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. Your expertise in Commercial HVAC will be essential in working on a variety of installations, repairs, and maintenance projects. Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions, providing recommendations for resolution
  • Perform regular maintenance on heating and cooling units to ensure optimal performance
  • Install, replace, or repair equipment, including calibration of thermostatic controls and repair or replacement of worn heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning parts and equipment
  • Assemble and install metal ductwork, ensuring precise fit and secure connections
  • Assist in planning and designing new installations of heating and air-conditioning systems, considering factors such as energy efficiency and system compatibility
  • Provide estimates of materials required for projects, ensuring accurate and timely completion
  • Repair and replace damaged parts and equipment, minimizing downtime and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams to understand system layouts and connections
  • Stay up-to-date with City, State, and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and their representatives, providing exceptional service and support
  • Safely operate company vehicles, machinery, and equipment, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines
  • Recognize and mitigate risks and safety hazards commonly found in HVAC operations, ensuring a safe working environment
  • Escalate or elevate situations requiring guidance or additional support to Supervisor or Manager
  • Participate in all required safety training and maintain state or national required licensing
Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • 5+ years of practical working experience in the HVAC Industry
  • Ability to lift 50lbs or more
  • Ability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience and qualities such as:
  • Basic understanding of building automation controls
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax
  • Passing examination regarding the abilities and know-how of Building Trades Journeyman, conducted by an Examining Board
