Job Summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a highly skilled Transmission Line Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our high voltage transmission line engineering department, you will be responsible for engineering projects in support of grid maintenance and expansion.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, and reports.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for project activities, including operations, maintenance, testing, and diagnostics.
  • Coordinate and lead projects, including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning.
  • Support bid/evaluation processes by performing basic analysis and calculations on existing documentation and materials.
  • Effectively communicate with other business areas of the company and outside vendors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum.
  • 0+ years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate unique technical skills and core competencies for this engineering level.

Preferred Requirements:

  • High voltage transmission line design experience.
  • Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-Pole, PLS-Tower, and MFAD.
