Job Summary

This is a challenging role within the high voltage transmission line engineering department at Xcel Energy. The position entails engineering projects in support of grid maintenance and expansion. The engineer will work closely with numerous other departments to execute the work, and may lead large projects or support senior engineers on their projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to perform activities/assignments of limited scope.
  • Support the development of technical documentation, including designs, testing, calculations, reports, and standards.
  • Provide ongoing technical support for project activities within areas such as Operations, Maintenance, Testing/diagnostics, Regulatory, etc.
  • Coordinate or lead projects or portions of projects, including phases such as research, design, equipment selection, procurement support, installation, and commissioning.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum (or recognized equivalency) and relevant engineering experience. EIT/FE (Engineer in Training/Fundamentals of Engineering) is strongly preferred for the Staff Level, and required for the Senior and Principal Levels. PE (Professional Engineer) registration may be required depending on business need.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $66,600.00 to $84,400.00 per year. This position is eligible for a comprehensive portfolio of benefits, including Annual Incentive Program, Medical/Pharmacy Plan, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and more.
