Role Summary:
The Student Success Advisor plays a crucial role in guiding students through their academic journey. This position involves assessing student needs, providing tailored academic advice, and connecting students with essential resources to enhance their educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver exceptional academic advising services to both current and prospective students.
2. Create comprehensive multi-semester academic plans that align with students' interests and career aspirations.
3. Facilitate connections between students and relevant academic and support services to foster their success.
4. Conduct formal meetings with students to build meaningful relationships and provide personalized guidance.
5. Participate in orientation and pre-orientation advising sessions for new students and their families.
6. Engage in institutional initiatives aimed at enhancing student success.
7. Utilize data-driven insights to improve advising practices and student outcomes.
8. Assist in the development of communication strategies regarding academic milestones and resources.
9. Monitor student retention and progression, offering proactive support to ensure academic success.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a student support role.
Preferred:
- Experience in a higher education environment.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in relevant software applications and student support systems.
