About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team at SNC Ltd. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and certifying cutting-edge firmware solutions for our advanced products and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop firmware for complex electronic systems, including analog and digital circuit card assemblies and fully integrated systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and design new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain firmware using VHDL language and FPGA HDL development, simulation, and analysis.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary design and development teams to ensure seamless integration of firmware with other system components.
  • Contribute to the development of software development processes, verification, validation, and quality assurance.
  • Lead baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high-impact trade studies and other measures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or other related discipline.
  • 10 or more years of experience in Electrical Engineering and/or Firmware development.
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Precise experience with DO-254.
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
  • Basic understanding of digital circuit concepts.
  • Extensive experience with FPGA HDL development, simulation, and analysis, utilizing the VHDL language.
  • Average to Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
  • An active Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required.
  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE).
  • Thorough understanding of Computer-Aided Engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with MIL-HDBK-516C.
  • Familiarity with bi-directional traceability.
  • Familiarity with software development processes.
  • Familiarity with Verification, Validation, and Quality Assurance.
  • Progressive experience leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of high-impact trade studies and other measures.
