Job Title: Recovery Assistant

Cumberland Heights Foundation, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Recovery Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our treatment team, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and therapeutic environment for our patients.

Job Summary:

The Recovery Assistant is responsible for monitoring a specified group and/or population of patients, including facilitation of a safe and therapeutic environment. In addition, the Recovery Assistant assists clinical staff in meeting the patients' daily needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Welcome new patients and/or family members to campus, assisting with orientation to the campus and program as directed.
  2. Assist in managing patient community as a therapeutic milieu, holding patients accountable for behavior consistent with community guidelines and recovery, consulting with clinical staff as needed.
  3. Assist with community groups, in-house and outside 12 step meetings, and 12 step discussion/study groups as assigned.
  4. Monitor patients, including making rounds and bed checks as assigned, assisting to create a safe treatment environment.
  5. Transport patients to 12 Step meetings and/or other therapeutic recreation activities as assigned, operating within the guidelines of the Fleet Management Safety Program, as well as monitoring patients for safety.
  6. Assist Activities Services staff members with recreation, art, music, and adventure based therapies as assigned.
  7. Utilizing Handle with Care, de-escalate potential and actual crisis situations as needed.
  8. Perform CPR and First Aid as needed.
  9. Participate in team meetings, treatment plan reviews, staff meetings, and quality management activities as assigned.
  10. Document pertinent information into the electronic patient record.
  11. Recommend ways to improve the quality and delivery of services.
  12. Ensure proper handling and distribution of company funds.
  13. Maintain confidentiality of company and patient information.
  14. React productively to change.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required; experience in addictions treatment preferred; and/or equivalent experience in job related activities.

Ability to speak, hear, see, sit, walk and stand; ability to speak, read and write in English; excellent interpersonal skills; good problem-solving skills;; basic computer skills; driver's license with F endorsement; understanding of 12 Step programs and philosophy; ability to engage with patients as an ally; ability to remain calm in stressful and/or crisis situations; CPR, First Aid, Handle with Care certification or eligible; if recovering one year recovery with two years preferred.
