Under the general supervision of a licensed psychologist, the Mental Health Therapist provides advanced psychological, mental health, and case management services to a caseload of complex patients in a psychiatric setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assesses patients' psychological and psychosocial status, plans interventions, and sets treatment goals to improve patient functioning.
- Provides individual, group, and family therapies, as well as cognitive behavioral approaches and crisis intervention, as needed.
- Implements individual treatment plans, documents clinical interventions, and presents findings to the multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Consults with other disciplines to ensure adequate case management services and provides discharge planning and referrals when clinically appropriate.
- Participates in interdisciplinary conferences, conducts research activities, and acts as a consultant to other clinical staff.
- Provides consultation and educational services to community agencies and participates in program and departmental meetings.
- Master's or doctoral degree in psychology or a related field.
- Experience in providing mental health services, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
- Strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide consultation and education to clinical staff.
