About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Owens Realty Services. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a healthy and safe environment for our employees, tenants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine cleaning of administrative offices, lobbies, cafeterias, lounges, corridors, elevators, and stairways in a clean, neat, and sanitary manner.
  • Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, fixtures, windows, doors, trim, and related furnishings; move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous items as directed.
  • Collect and dispose of recyclable and non-recyclable waste, and replace trash can liners.
  • Periodically clean telephones using germicidal and cleaner disinfectants.
  • Perform full vacuuming in traffic areas and remove visible debris from carpets.
  • Clean light switches, door handles, walls, tops of modular furniture, and blinds.
  • Clean and/or polish tables, benches, and chairs.
  • Remove cobwebs and ensure hallways and pathways are clear of cleaning equipment and tools.
  • Secure job areas with safety signs and lock and unlock doors and windows as necessary.
  • Turn off lights when rooms are unoccupied and maintain confidentiality according to policy.
  • Report safety hazards to supervisors as appropriate and follow safety procedures, including PPE and other safety requirements.
  • Follow infection control practices, including hand washing techniques.
  • Perform work as directed and maintain cleaning carts and equipment in a clean and ready-to-use condition.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
