Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver patient care with a focus on patient growth and development, tailored to the needs of our patients.
  • Take and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, and report any deviations from normal to the Primary or Charge Nurse.
  • Obtain specimens as assigned, such as urine, stool, and sputum, and weigh patients to track their progress.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, including skin care, bathing, dressing, and ambulation.
  • Record oral intake and urinary output, and perform assigned treatments, such as changing simple dressings.
  • Communicate effectively with the Charge Nurse/Primary Nurse regarding patient needs and requests.
  • Orient patients to their environment and develop rapport with patients, family, and significant others.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Keep patient units and non-patient areas clean, including wiping tables, arranging storage rooms, pantries, and other areas.
  • Prepare bedside units for new admissions, stocking with necessary supplies.
  • Apply principles of infection control and safety in the work environment.
  • Report significant unit problems to the Charge Nurse.
  • Effectively utilize the hospital computer system as it pertains to job responsibilities and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Participate in unit committees and CQI activities as assigned.
Requirements
  • Certification or better in Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Certified Nursing Attendant, Heart Saver.
  • Experience: 1 year as a certified nurse aide in Long Term Care.
