Core Duties:
Essential functions are foundational and integral to all roles within this classification. This list is not exhaustive but highlights key responsibilities:

  • Review and assess financial transactions and records for accuracy while ensuring compliance with agency budgets, agreements, grants, and applicable laws.
  • Analyze, reconcile, and consolidate data from journals and records into the general ledger; perform corrections and adjustments to maintain balance and an audit trail.
  • Examine financial transactions and classifications to ensure precision and suggest necessary modifications.
  • Maintain internal controls and apply accounting standards and practices.
  • Offer advice and technical support regarding assigned fiscal functions.
  • Compile, analyze, and prepare various financial statements and reports that reflect the organization’s financial status for planning purposes.
  • Research and provide necessary data and documentation to auditors and for other financial inquiries.
  • Utilize automated information systems and software to analyze and report on financial data.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders through various communication channels.
  • Engage effectively with diverse populations across different backgrounds and abilities.
  • May oversee purchasing, disbursement, and inventory management of supplies and equipment.

Qualifications:
Applicants must demonstrate competence in the following areas:

For Fiscal Advisor I:
One year of experience in processing accounting, auditing, or payroll transactions in compliance with relevant regulations, or six months of experience in auditing or reconciling financial accounts, or possession of an Associate's degree or higher in Accounting or a related field.

For Fiscal Advisor II:
One year of experience in compiling and reporting financial data, ensuring compliance with budgets and regulations, and six months of experience in analyzing financial transactions to resolve discrepancies.

For Fiscal Advisor III:
Two years of experience in financial data analysis and compliance, and six months of experience in addressing financial issues and advising management.

Additional Information:
This position supports flexible work arrangements. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
