Job Summary:

The Business Development Representative position at Gable Search Group is responsible for identifying and pursuing new commercial fuel sales opportunities, while maintaining and growing existing relationships with customers. This role requires a strong understanding of the petroleum industry and the ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and acquire new commercial fuel sales opportunities through research, cold calling, and networking.
  • Maintain and grow existing relationships with customers through proactive communication and relationship-building strategies.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to increase profitability and gallons of existing bids territory.
  • Provide quality service to customers through daily contact, including order receipt, problem resolution, quoting, and delivery implication resolution.
  • Manage and maintain bid contracts, including deadlines for bid renewals and organizational of bids in a manageable electronic version for future references.
  • Effectively complete customer quotes in a timely and efficient manner, working to give all areas ample time to process credit review and historical pricing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing of customers, with a goal of 24 hours from ship date.
  • Pursue major account prospects targeted through the marketing campaign, building relationships with key purchasers of the accounts.
  • Target and pursue large-scale bid opportunities, using provided tools to illustrate the abilities of the company to prospective decision makers.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Communications from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Proven success as an inside or outside sales representative.
  • Ability to listen to others, express ideas both orally and in writing, and provide relevant and timely information to clients, managers, etc.
  • Ability to understand problems and make timely, practical business decisions.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience working in Windows, Internet Explorer, and MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • In-depth knowledge of the petroleum industry preferred.
