Aquatic Safety Officer

Position Summary
This role is designated for individuals interested in an "Open Pool" opportunity. While current vacancies may not be available, potential openings will be filled from a pool of applicants on file as needs arise.
The primary duty of the Aquatic Safety Officer is to safeguard the well-being of all guests in and around the aquatic environment. This is achieved through the diligent enforcement of all aquatic safety protocols and regulations, alongside vigilant monitoring of the swimming area and its vicinity.
Key Responsibilities: (This list is not exhaustive)
- Ensure the safety of all individuals in and around the aquatic facility;
- Uphold all facility and aquatic safety policies, rules, and regulations;
- Implement preventative safety measures;
- Identify and respond effectively to emergencies;
- Conduct daily inspections of the facility;
- Accurately complete necessary aquatic records and reports in a timely manner;
- Engage in ongoing training sessions;
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Essential Qualifications:
Applicants must possess and maintain the following certifications while employed:
- Current lifeguard certification from a recognized Massachusetts state agency (e.g., American Red Cross, YMCA, BSA Starguard);
- CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuers;
- Standard First Aid certification;
- Must be at least 16 years of age in accordance with Massachusetts State Bathing Code 105 CMR.

Additional Information:
Compensation: $15.00 per hour.
Weekly Hours: Up to 18 hours per week.
