This is a highly specialized position within the Surgical Department at The University of Kansas Health System, focusing on optimizing patient care and outcomes for individuals requiring spine surgery.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurse Navigator to lead our patients through this critical journey, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration between healthcare professionals.

  • As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will assess patient needs, identify relevant support services, and coordinate timely referrals to ensure optimal treatment planning.
  • With your expertise in nursing and case management, you will provide personalized education and emotional support throughout the intake process, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their care.
  • You will work closely with surgeons, intake schedulers, and other healthcare professionals to guarantee that patients receive the necessary medical information and diagnostic studies in a timely manner, expediting their path to treatment.
  • A strong communicator, you will develop and maintain relationships with referring physicians, facilitating effective treatment plans and ensuring patients receive the highest level of care.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, 3+ years of nursing experience, and 1+ year of case management or ambulatory care coordination. A Master's Degree in Nursing and 5+ years of experience are preferred qualifications.

Required licensure includes a Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) in the State of Kansas, and a multistate RN license in good standing. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification is also required within 14 days.

Preferred licensure includes specialized certification for navigating specific patient populations.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range estimated at $85,000-$110,000 annually, depending on experience.
