Production Assistant

**Job Summary**

The Production Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production department at Lewis Bakeries. This position requires a flexible and adaptable individual who can provide support to personnel on vacations, absences, and personal days.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain machinery and equipment, ensuring continuous production and minimizing downtime.
  • Comply with safety policies and procedures, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Utilize downtime and changeovers to clean and prepare the production area, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
  • Report any unsanitary or unsafe practices, poor quality products, or other non-favorable conditions to the lead person or supervisor.
  • Complete training in all areas of production positions, staying up-to-date with the latest procedures and technologies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards and expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds of force frequently, and 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Ability to move up and down stairways and ladders to perform job assignments.
  • Other physical requirements include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, bending, twisting, talking, and hearing.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak, as well as perform simple arithmetic.
  • Ability to work efficiently at a fast pace, meeting production deadlines and expectations.
