CNA Training Track Overview

Elderwood's CNA Training course is a comprehensive program designed to provide insight into the direct care role. As a Support Aide, you will work alongside our clinicians, completing tasks for our resident population and gaining hands-on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Transport residents to various locations in the building, including the dining room, activity program areas, and therapy or treatment areas.
  • Make unoccupied resident beds and assist with food service in the dining room.
  • Distribute supplemental nourishments to residents who do not need to be fed.
  • Conduct informal activities on the nursing unit when time permits.
  • Supply fresh water in resident's rooms and prepare bed and bedwear for residents at hour of sleep.
  • Keep general areas of the assigned nursing unit neat and orderly.
  • Clean resident's equipment and keep resident's rooms orderly.
  • Notify therapist of any unusual incidents regarding residents.
Qualifications
  • Sixteen (16) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Employment Certificate/Permit required for 16-17 years of age.
  • No findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment, and misappropriation of property through any current or previous licensing agency.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
