Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Contract Negotiator to join our team at Lifelancer. As a key member of our commercial contracts department, you will play a critical role in preparing, negotiating, and administering commercial contracts and other legal documents.

Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating with operations and research staff to monitor the submission of research project proposals, documenting the set-up, execution, administration, and closeout of awarded projects in our enterprise-wide client management and accounting system.

You will also be responsible for identifying matters that require escalation within our Office of Legal and Regulatory Affairs or to senior management, as appropriate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, review, negotiate, and execute contracts, amendments, and other legal documents;
  • Maintain business, contractual, and financial records in enterprise-wide client management and accounting system;
  • Review proposals and advise RTI-HS project or administrative staff on contractual and business issues;
  • Advise research project personnel regarding contract terms and risk mitigation;
  • Identify matters which require escalation within the Office of Legal and Regulatory Affairs or to senior management, as appropriate;
  • Assist with maintaining standard client contract templates;
  • Respond to internal and external requests for information or documents;
  • Communicate and collaborate with other operations staff.
Requirements
  • Solid understanding of contracting principles and commercial business practices;
  • Experience with contract management and negotiation;
  • Well-developed analytical thinking, risk analysis, negotiation, and problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with co-workers, project staff, clients, and suppliers;
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply company policies;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to accurately perform duties that require close attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills;
  • Ability to effectively prioritize workload and follow tasks through to timely completion;
  • Ability to work independently and be accountable for work product and results;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook; ability to quickly learn enterprise client management and accounting system (Deltek Vision).
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience. Our total rewards package includes a competitive base salary, generous paid time off policy, merit-based annual increases, bonus opportunities, and a robust recognition program.
