About Us

The German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest (GACC Midwest) is dedicated to fostering and facilitating the growth of bilateral trade and investment between Germany and the United States. All internships provide the chance to acquire professional experience in a genuinely bilingual and bicultural setting, with guidance from colleagues who can assist in navigating intercultural differences and nuances.

Compensation: $2825/month

Duration: 9-12 months

Responsibilities:
  • Management of GACC Midwest's social media platforms and websites
  • Assistance in the creation of Chamber publications and content, including newsletters and a digital blog
  • Contribution to marketing materials, such as brochures and event flyers
  • Participation in Chamber events and providing on-site support
  • Help with photography and video production of Chamber events
  • Support for other departments in marketing, events, and more
Qualifications:
  • Graphic design skills; familiarity with Canva or Adobe InDesign is advantageous
  • Experience in developing and managing social media posts and campaigns (e.g., Hootsuite, LinkedIn Campaign Manager) is beneficial
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, online research, and mass mailing software such as Constant Contact
  • Experience in web content management (e.g., WordPress, Typo3, or similar)
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent writing abilities and capacity to produce written content in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Strong proofreading and editing skills with keen attention to detail
  • High-level proficiency in the English language
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a cooperative environment
