Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at ECHN. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and respiratory therapy services to patients of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans for patients with respiratory disorders.
  • Conduct pulmonary function tests and interpret results to diagnose and monitor respiratory conditions.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, including oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and chest physiotherapy.
  • Monitor and maintain mechanical ventilation systems, including setting up and adjusting ventilators, and performing routine maintenance tasks.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement comprehensive care plans for patients with complex respiratory conditions.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families on respiratory health and disease management.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care program.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential from the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Current license to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of Connecticut.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider (NRP) or Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) certification.
  • Experience working in a critical care environment.
