Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of medical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site support for the reprocessing of surgical instruments and sets to contracted facilities in compliance with regulatory standards and facility goals.
  • Support daily operations of all activities related to the reprocessing of reusable medical supplies and instrumentation, including decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage processes.
  • Participate in new employee orientation and on-the-job training as directed by the Manager.
  • Communicate effectively with hospital staff and company employees in a professional manner.
  • Report broken instrumentation and equipment, and communicate low par levels of SPD consumable supplies.
  • Exhibit professional behavior in all personal, telephone, and electronic communications.
  • Represent Emory Healthcare, IMS, and the profession positively in all public arenas.
  • Support and adhere to IMS policies and procedures, as well as facility policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and aptitude are required.
  • Active certification in sterile processing/central sterile via CBSPD or IAHCSMM or two years of experience in lieu of certification is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of instrumentation is required.
