Job Description

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Program Director to lead our youth sports leagues. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and directing sports programming for all students, ensuring that our programs and activities adhere to current health and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, implement, and supervise youth sports leagues, promoting interest and participation through schools, public relations, and informational programs.
  2. Develop and maintain positive relationships with youth, parents, coaches, community members, and staff.
  3. Ensure the safety of participants, adhering to youth sports league best practices and BGCGSD established policies.
  4. Conduct assessment clinics, build balanced teams based on age, experience, and assessments.
  5. Recognize and react quickly to problems, such as arguing, fighting, or horseplay, and stop the undesirable activity quickly.

Qualifications:

  1. Must be 18 years of age with a High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Verified ability to analyze student assessment data to improve student achievement in the Program.
  3. Ability to effectively communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, with youth, parents, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  4. Must be self-motivated and goal-oriented, demonstrating strong leadership and team-building skills.
  5. Proficiency with computers and office equipment, including experience using a variety of office software.
