About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging and innovative projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of structural engineers and technicians in the design, development, and implementation of various structural systems.
  • Apply knowledge of national design codes, AISC, ASCE, and welding in the design and development of structural systems.
  • Review and approve structural designs and calculations prepared by team members.
  • Coordinate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure that all designs and developments comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Conduct site inspections and structural assessments as required.
  • Prepare and present technical reports and proposals to clients and stakeholders.
  • Continually improve and update knowledge and skills in line with industry developments.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in structural engineering, with a focus on the manufacturing industry.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with national design codes, AISC, ASCE, and welding.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians.
  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to design and develop complex structural systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve design and development issues.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and development, with the ability to stay updated with industry developments and trends.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel as needed for site inspections and meetings.
