Job Summary:

The Charge Nurse serves as a shift supervisor and key member of the management team in the 5 South Observation Unit. This unit supports both the Emergency Department and telemetry units by observing low-acuity patients to determine if inpatient status is needed. The Charge Nurse provides leadership to staff members and serves as a clinical resource, communicating and rounding on patients and family members to ensure high-quality patient care and safety. Additionally, the Charge Nurse collaborates with the Nurse Manager to address operational needs such as scheduling, staff development, and clinical competence.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and clinical expertise to staff members
Communicate and round on patients and family members
Collaborate with the Nurse Manager to address operational needs
Ensure high-quality patient care and safety

Requirements:
Active Kentucky RN license
Minimum of two years acute care hospital experience
BCLS and ACLS certification
