About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Nurse to join our team at UofL Health. As a Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Pulmonary Intermediate Unit, ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in assessing and cost-effectively meeting staffing needs and resource utilization within the budget of the department
  • Confer with unit nursing leadership when making preceptor/nurse assignments
  • Assign patients and tasks according to staff expertise and patient acuity
  • Serve as a role model for staff regarding customer relations and monitor unit customer service
  • Participate in employee evaluations, counsel and coach employees when necessary, and implement disciplinary process according to policy
  • Act as a clinical resource and may assist with education and may dispense education for staff as needed

Requirements:

  • 2 years RN experience required
  • BSN preferred
  • Active Kentucky Registered Nurse License or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
