About the Role:
The Charge Nurse at UofL Health plays a vital role in the management of the unit, assisting the Clinical Manager and/or Nursing Director with employee evaluation, staffing and scheduling, patient and preceptor assignments, resource utilization, and quality improvement activities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of the unit, including participating in employee evaluation, staffing and scheduling, patient and preceptor assignments, and resource utilization.
- Act as a resource and provide information/education to unit staff.
- Involved in service recovery, promoting customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Role model and proponent of the professional nurse, participating in nursing department initiatives and organizational committee meetings.
Qualifications:
- Licensed or eligible for license in Kentucky.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Associate's degree from accredited college or University.
