Overview

As a Dosimetrist, you'll play a critical role in designing treatment plans that deliver precise radiation doses to patients with cancer. Your expertise will help ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities
  • Design treatment plans using computer and/or manual computation to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and spare critical structures in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
  • Provide assistance and technical support to the Medical Physicist in radiation safety and protection.
  • Perform qualitative machine calibrations and quality assurance of treatment plans and radiation oncology equipment.
  • Utilize radiation monitoring devices to measure radioactivity and perform assays.
  • Teach applied aspects of medical dosimetry to students, radiation therapists, and residents.
  • Participate in clinical research and continuing education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited medical dosimetry program.
  • Board certification required within the first three years of hire.
