Job Description

Position Title: Billing Support Staff


Reports to: Billing Manager


Compensation: Our compensation range is determined by various factors including market salary surveys, internal data for similar roles, and our budgetary considerations. The anticipated pay range is $16-$19 per hour.

Overview: In this role, you will be tasked with the meticulous review of all billing statements prior to dispatching to patients, evaluating self-pay accounts for potential insurance information, addressing eligibility denials for all clients, and ensuring accurate no-fault and workers' compensation carrier details are recorded.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, print, and mail all paper claims to insurance providers.
  • Assess multiple client databases for insurance eligibility and updates.
  • Utilize insurance carrier websites to verify patient insurance details.
  • Analyze and comprehend patient statements.
  • Process requests for medical records accurately.
  • Correct claims that are rejected due to inaccurate data.
  • Address returned mail due to incorrect addresses.
  • Input charges that were not processed electronically.
  • Handle incoming patient phone inquiries.
  • Prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Meet monthly performance goals established by management.
  • Adhere to company-wide and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Ability to operate a computer and standard office equipment.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use a keyboard for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills for face-to-face and phone interactions with patients.
  • Capacity to read, write, and work in a fast-paced office environment.
  • Ability to make decisions and think quickly.
  • Mental and physical capability to perform all tasks listed above.

Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.
