Position Overview:

The Analyst role requires a candidate with a security clearance to support the planning and execution of military exercises.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of exercise goals and directives to formulate collection management strategies.
  2. Collaborate closely with operations teams and exercise leadership to ascertain information collection needs and identify specific evaluation tasks.
  3. Assist personnel in coordinating the execution of scenarios, information gathering, and preparation for after-action reviews (AAR).
  4. Provide doctrinal and analytical expertise to enhance operational effectiveness and the AAR process.
  5. Analyze data from previous exercises to identify trends and discrepancies, offering feedback for doctrine and combat development.
  6. Compile and assess inputs from various stakeholders to deliver insightful evaluations of exercise performance.
  7. Synthesize and assess information to evaluate the effectiveness of commanders and staff in achieving exercise objectives.
  8. Prepare detailed assessments and visual products for interim and final AAR documentation.
  9. Fulfill analyst responsibilities as part of the AAR team as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Required: BA, BS, or equivalent degree from an accredited institution; Graduate of a military Command and Staff College.
  • Desired: Graduate of a Senior Service College; Masters in Military Science.

Experience:

  • Honorable service as a commissioned officer in the US Armed Forces.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Minimum of three years' experience with US Joint doctrine, organization, and procedures at the theater level.
  • Experience in combined and coalition operations.
  • Background in exercise and training performance analysis and evaluation.
  • Proficiency in compiling and presenting lessons learned and training evaluation materials.
  • Experience in conducting seminars, after-action reviews, and classroom instruction.
  • Familiarity with simulation-supported wargaming.
