About the Role

The Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action is seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Contracts Officer to join our team in the Roads and Fixed Assets unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting the management of assets and the delivery of associated capital infrastructure works on the State Forest and Parks Victoria road network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality procurement and contract management services, including the development of contract works specifications, tender and contract documentation, management of tender and contract processes, monitoring of contractor performance, and management of contract relationships and communications.
  • Develop and implement effective procurement and contract management strategies to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and prioritize procurement and contract management needs, and develop solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide advice and guidance on procurement and contract management issues, and ensure that all procurement and contract management activities are conducted in a fair, transparent, and accountable manner.

Requirements

  • Experience in delivering high-quality procurement and contract management services, including tendering, probity, competition processes, handling of claims, and contract management.
  • Experience in works and construction procurement and contract management is desirable.
  • Experience in government procurement and contract management would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
