Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fixed Income Trading Associate to join our team at Fifth Third Bank. As a key member of our trading team, you will be responsible for providing primary and secondary market liquidity to assigned market sectors, assisting in achieving departmental fee income goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Trade fixed income securities in support of Institutional and Retail Sales representatives.
  • Provide revenue-generating ideas to sales representatives.
  • Accurately process trades on clearing systems in a manner consistent with both FTS compliance and industry standards.
  • Effectively communicate with sales, middle office, operations, risk management, compliance, internal business partners, and external clients.
  • Balance, reconcile, and manage inventory positions maintained within department policy limits.
  • File appropriate regulatory reports on a timely basis.
  • Provide product training to Institutional and Retail sales executives through formal training sessions and informal daily communication.
  • Gain awareness around relevant news/market events/regulatory changes that may impact pricing, hedging, risk strategies, etc.
Requirements
  • NASD Series 7, 63 registration required.
  • Bachelor's degree required - Degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or related fields preferred.
  • 3+ years banking or securities industry experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of fixed income industry, macroeconomics, and products required.
  • Broad knowledge of accounting concepts is required.
  • Broad knowledge of trading environment is preferred.
  • Expertise with Bloomberg LLP preferred.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel is preferred.
  • Attention to detail and high operational accuracy is needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
