Position Overview

This role is designed for a dedicated professional to deliver comprehensive psychiatric services to eligible students while collaborating closely with the medical staff of the Student Health Service and clinicians from Student Counseling Services.

Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Psychiatric Consultant, your primary duties will include:

  • Providing psychiatric evaluations and ongoing care to a diverse student population.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to address and prevent behavioral health issues within the university community.
  • Engaging with other professionals to promote mental well-being and support initiatives aimed at enhancing student health.

Work Arrangement
This position offers the flexibility of remote work options within the state of Illinois, accommodating both full-time and part-time arrangements.

Compensation
The salary for this role is set at $250,000 for full-time employment, with competitive rates for part-time work.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A thorough understanding of legal and ethical standards governing psychiatric practice in a higher education context.
  • The ability to adapt and provide care to a varied demographic of college students in a dynamic environment.
  • Specialized training in psychiatry relevant to young adult populations.
  • Prior experience in a university health service or counseling center.
  • A solid grasp of developmental approaches to mental health.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including electronic health records, e-prescribing, and coding systems.

Work Schedule
This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional weekend and evening hours as necessary.

Functional Requirements
Candidates must be able to:

  • Remain at a workstation for extended periods.
  • Navigate various locations on and off campus to fulfill daily responsibilities.
  • Communicate effectively on a daily basis.
