**Job Summary**

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in our healthcare team, working interdependently with other medical professionals to provide quality patient care. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Provide direct patient care under the direction of a physician, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting with medical procedures.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, test results, and treatment plans.

• Support the mission and values of WakeMed by providing exceptional patient care and service.

• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communication.

• Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.

**Requirements**

• 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of a medical assisting program preferred.

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification required within 24 months of hire.

• Ability to work 8am to 4:30pm shifts, with no weekend requirements.
