Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate GED Instructor to join our team at the Latin American Youth Center. As a GED Instructor, you will play a vital role in providing educational services to youth ages 16 to 24, helping them to reconnect with educational, workforce, and community-based services.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, human services, or a related field, with experience in teaching, tutoring, or providing educational services to youth. You will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging curriculum frameworks, instructing students, and providing individual and small group tutoring hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging curriculum frameworks for GED classes
  • Instruct students using various teaching methods, including popular education and critical pedagogy
  • Provide individual and small group tutoring hours
  • Assist with the recruitment and retention of participants for the GED classes
  • Plan and supervise culturally relevant class projects, field trips, and other experiential activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in education, human services, or a related field
  • Experience in teaching, tutoring, or providing educational services to youth
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
