Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabricator - Manufacturing Specialist to join our team at Valcor Engineering Corp. This individual will be responsible for combining engineering drawings, assembly/test procedures, and other instructions to fabricate and assemble various products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Welding and Fabrication:
    • Tig and weld mild steel and stainless steel in a NADCAP qualified facility
    • Set up and weld various geometries of components with minimal supervision
    • Understand and interpret various weld form symbols on engineering drawings
    • Experience with vertical and horizontal plane geometry, tack welding, and semi-automated autogeneus fusion welding
    • Basic knowledge of various edge preps before welding
    • Understanding of basic setup techniques
  • Machining:
    • Make basic set-ups and operate available machine tools
    • Determine operational sequences, proper jigs, fixtures, and tools to be used
    • Use all machinist's hand tools and measuring instruments
    • Familiar with the machining of most materials
    • Use advanced shop math, including trigonometry
  • Assembly and Testing:
    • Work from engineering drawings, schematics, work orders, and/or verbal instructions
    • Set up hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical test equipment, test gauges, voltmeters, and amp meters, multimeters, etc.
    • Test to engineering test procedures and record data on test reports
    • Perform assembly, sub-assembly, and final assembly of various products
Requirements
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to operate standard and specialized equipment to produce prototype and/or production parts
    • Ability to perform standard shop computations, using technical math, geometry, and trigonometry
    • In-depth knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances in both standard and metric systems
    • Team-oriented mentality and ability to work with a group
    • Proficient use of manual and CNC lathes, milling machines, and grinders
    • Proficient use of various production equipment, including hydraulic presses, bead blasters, drill presses, manual grinders, etc.
    • Ability to work with various measuring instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.
    • Ability to work with various electronic equipment, including power supplies, multimeters, test gauges, etc.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Moderate physical activity; standing for extended periods
    • Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and pushing, pulling, or standing
  • Working Conditions:
    • Manufacturing environment; may be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials
