We are seeking a highly skilled Senior M/E Engineer to join our team at JE Dunn Construction. As a Senior M/E Engineer, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects, overseeing the mechanical and electrical scopes of work, and ensuring that our clients receive the highest level of service.
Key Responsibilities:- Complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical, and field construction activities.
- Develop budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information.
- Review mechanical and electrical options, complete systems analysis, and recommend best systems for projects.
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process.
- Develop sequencing requirements for various systems and provide solutions to meet schedule requirements.
- Perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met.
- Develop pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures.
- Verify contractor performance of functional tests.
- Review and approve shop drawings prior to submitting to the design team.
- Generate and issue Commissioning Plans for approval.
- Verify deficiencies are corrected and submit commissioning documentation to owners.
- Mentor less experienced coworkers.
- Create M/E tools and innovative solutions to improve processes and work products.
- Negotiate subcontracts with subcontractors.
- Purchase equipment from equipment vendors for assigned projects.
- Build relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Participate in interviews for winning work, presentations, and business development efforts.
- Represent the M/E department and JE Dunn at external community events.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years of construction management experience.
- Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
- Professional non-union benefits package.
