Job Description

Responsibilities

As an E&M Crane Operator, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of vessel cranes and associated equipment and systems. You'll work closely with the Chief Engineer to ensure that any changes to systems are documented, logged, and approved by the responsible authority. You'll also be responsible for maintaining a current vendor's catalogue library of all equipment in your area of responsibility.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Wear, inspect, and care for required personal protective equipment.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of vessel cranes and associated equipment and systems.
  • Work in consultation with the Chief Engineer to ensure that any changes to systems are documented, logged, and approved by the responsible authority.
  • Maintain a current vendor's catalogue library of all equipment in your area of responsibility.
  • Have a strong working relationship and communication with vessel Crane Operators for the purposes of understanding any crane-related issues, defects, or concerns.
  • Ensure through uniform stock & quantity control, that adequate inventory and level of spares is maintained at all times in your area of responsibility.
  • Be familiar with all Company procedures, including the Safety Management System, applicable to your duties.
  • Refuse unsafe work and carry out all work in accordance with established safety standards and work practices.
  • Participate in emergency and occupational onboard training, such as the use of self-contained breathing apparatus, firefighting, man overboard exercises, lifeboat launching, security drills, and/or other training as applicable for your function.


Qualifications

  • Proven background working with hydraulic systems in an offshore environment, preferably related to offshore cranes.
  • BOSIET valid medical certificate of fitness.
  • STCW Reg VI.


Preferred Qualifications

  • STCW95 Reg.
  • III/- Officer in Charge of an Engineering Watch OICEW.
