Maryland Inpatient BHU Medical Director Position

We are seeking a dedicated and board-certified Psychiatrist to lead our Adult Unit at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.
Role Overview:As the inpatient BHU Medical Director, you will be responsible for providing leadership and ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Lead quality and performance initiatives to maintain the integrity of the BHU.
- Represent adult psychiatry in hospital meetings and act as the point person for psychiatric topics, both clinical and in program development and expansion efforts of the GME Program.
- Oversee psychiatry residents and fellows.
- Additional responsibilities include overseeing psychiatry providers to meet volume and quality, recruitment, orientation, and performance management of providers, being available for clinical escalation during emergencies, conducting psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing patients, and prescribing patient progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed, providing crisis intervention and completing clinical with a multidisciplinary team and coordinating care with stakeholders, providing referrals and education to patients and families, and offering outpatient psychiatric services virtually when necessary.
We require Maryland licensure or willingness to become licensed, board certification or eligibility, and preferred willingness to become licensed in other geographies.
