Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Noblis MSD. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing engineering, technical, logistics, and obsolescence support to U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Army, and Foreign Military Sales ships and vessels related to Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (AC&R) systems for U.S. Navy submarines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, evaluate, plan, test, and operate mechanical equipment and systems for commercial, government, military, and/or scientific uses.
  • Create mechanical designs and drawings.
  • Write precise calculations.
  • Develop and test prototypes for functionality.
  • Re-engineer products when problems are found and recalculating for the return of products to full functionality.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for leadership.
  • Perform obsolescence evaluation and assist with finding replacements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in Steam and Auxiliary systems, including mechanical/electrical system design, repair, installation, modification, operation, maintenance, and testing.
  • Active DoD security clearance at SECRET level or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with equipment design principles.
  • Familiarity with 2D/3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
  • Experience reviewing models and drawings for manufacturability of parts.
  • Experience with documentation development, including drawings, technical manuals (operation, assembly, troubleshooting, and repair), and bill of materials.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
  • Familiarity with military specifications for technical design.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience working with detailed specifications under configuration management.
  • Experience interfacing directly with US military technical representatives.
  • Experience working with equipment suppliers and vendors.
  • Shipboard experience as an operator/maintainer is a plus.
