Position Overview
A Campus Safety Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring a secure and protected atmosphere for all employees and guests at the Global Home Office, safeguarding the company's assets. This position focuses on the Campus environment, engaging significantly in the daily operations of our Global Home Office community. Regular interactions with the 2000+ team members who drive our brands forward are a key aspect of this role.
The Campus Safety Officer will report to a shift Lead and will be stationed at our Global Home Office in Columbus, Ohio.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage visitor access and oversee entry point security
- Monitor pedestrian traffic during crosswalk duties
- Document incidents and accidents occurring on campus
- Supervise CCTV, security, and fire safety systems
- Conduct patrols to secure both interior and exterior areas of the facilities
- Provide first aid as necessary
- Evaluate and regulate truck access at Distribution Centers
- Identify and address safety issues
- Support the DC-Security team as required
- Assist with front desk operations, sample sales, and on-campus events as needed
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Professional demeanor and comfort in engaging with various levels of management
- Experience or education in a security-related field is advantageous
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, driven by professional interactions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to address issues promptly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Effective public relations skills
- Capacity to work independently with a high level of organization
- Ability to respond quickly on foot to various locations within the facilities
- Proficient in viewing information on computer monitors and CCTV screens
- Valid motor vehicle operator's license required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
