Catholic Charities West Michigan is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our child welfare team, you will be responsible for working with foster children, their birth families, and licensed or unlicensed caregivers across Michigan.
Key Responsibilities- Serve a caseload of foster children, their birth families, and their caregivers, providing support and guidance to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Conduct structured assessments to identify the needs of children and their families, and provide referrals to relevant services.
- Maintain regular contact with children, families, and caregivers, and coordinate services to meet their needs.
- Participate in after-hours placements and emergency services, and drive and transport as needed.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in human services, with a focus on child welfare.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultures.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
