At Intertek, we are seeking an experienced Strategic Business Growth Manager to join our Building & Construction team in Farmingdale, New York.

Our company provides assurance, testing, inspection, and consulting solutions in civil and commercial construction. We offer a range of services, including construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.

As a Strategic Business Growth Manager, you will be responsible for cultivating and mining relationships with clients to sell and cross-sell our services. You will oversee, manage, and provide client development leadership for the New York and New Jersey offices and other assigned territories.

Key responsibilities include tracking and reporting key market information, facilitating strategy BD meetings, motivating and training others, managing key client relationships, and professional organization membership and networking. The position requires spending 60+ percent of the time face-to-face with targeted strategic clients.

You will work closely with local and regional operations to build a client base focused on A&E, GC, City/Municipal/Government, and Commercial/Retail Development, and other sectors. You will track and monitor account performance, profit center gross revenue, and maintain critical reporting excellence.

Direct and manage overall Business Development and Sales process, which includes client and project pursuits, RFPs, proposals, key wins and losses, industry activities, and other general BD/marketing/Sales responsibilities. You will understand Intertek-PSI core services and able to discuss and negotiate service proposals and win work.

Attend professional organization, government, and technical meetings/events as a representative of Intertek-MT Group and coordinate/participate in these meetings and events on a regular basis.

You will work with Operations to respond to client needs, which may include leading collaborative efforts across multiple offices, regions, or divisions.

Research potential Clients to determine Intertek-MT Group service lines needed and establish initial and follow-up contacts with identified key decision makers. Follow up and Close on Active Proposals. Assist with negotiation of Master Service Agreements or other client provided forms of agreement.

This role is ideal for an experienced Outside Sales professional with a proven track record preferably in the A/E/C space with 5+ years' of Business Development experience with direct experience in environmental, geotechnical, building science, and/or construction materials testing and inspections required.

You will be responsible for presenting and selling to developers, engineers, architects, and other construction industry professionals. Knowledge of vertical, heavy civil, and construction engineering markets a plus. Experience with accounts in the New York and New Jersey market preferred.

The salary for this role is estimated to be around $120,000-$150,000 per year, depending on experience, with additional benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, disability, 401(k) with company match, tuition reimbursement, and more.
