Job Title: Advanced Supplier Quality

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Supplier Quality professional to join our team at Purem Novi Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for auditing, evaluating, and driving supplier development for suitability for sourcing new programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the effort to audit, evaluate, and drive supplier development for suitability for sourcing new programs.
  • Perform regular supplier APQP reviews, define, and follow up improvement activities, and highlight areas for improvement.
  • Perform supplier audits and monitor action plans for improvement, and organize and perform supplier Run@Rate, follow up open points, and report problems to management.
  • Monitor the progress of the supplier PPAP and ensure final submission quality level, agree boundary samples, and failure catalogues with suppliers if applicable.
  • Facilitate technical reviews with potential suppliers to establish risk and feasibility, and perform risk assessments at suppliers, define, and follow up improvement activities, and focus on high-risk suppliers' issues to program management, Supply Chain Management, and Engineering.
  • Engage poor-performing suppliers to ensure continuous improvement, support new plant with any emergency issues related to supplier quality delivery, and oversee, participate in, and coordinate activities of assigned suppliers of purchased products/services.
  • Engage in product review, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plans, and all other applicable areas of APQO/PPAP, drive improvement through the use of metrics and tools such as PPAP, Root Cause Analysis, and SPC, analyze and review quality reports to verify compliance, monitor performance, and detect potential problems, and update and create quality process documentation as needed to improve the effectiveness of ENA supplier processes.

Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all business-related activities for, and on behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
  • Provide support to, and compliance with, all local and corporate Eberspaecher Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and other HSE-related requirements.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and follows all ENA policies related to TS16949 and ISO 14001; looks for ways to improve and promote quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Associates' degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or closely related field.
  • Minimum two years' experience working in the automotive industry in a quality, purchasing, engineering, or manufacturing function.
  • Minimum one year's related experience working directly in the supplier quality function.
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Proficient in SAP.
  • Thorough understanding of APQP/PPAP, including Process Flow, Control Plans, and SPC.

Technical Expertise:

  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports, statements, and projections.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and operations, including calculations, percentages, etc.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, and write simple correspondence.
  • Analytical - Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data; Designs work flows and procedures.
  • Business Acumen - Understands business implications of decisions.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
  • Project Management - Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
  • Strives to continuously improve expertise, knowledge, and skills.
