Quality Control Manager Job Description

Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking an experienced Quality Control Manager to develop, implement, and manage quality control systems within our manufacturing organization. This is a direct-hire, full-time, long-term opportunity with a growing organization.

Compensation: $90,000-$125,000

Schedule: Monday – Thursday, 6am-4:30pm, Onsite

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Quality Control Manager to drive continuous improvement efforts and ensure product excellence. This individual will oversee a small team within a manufacturing facility of just over 100 staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate production processes for compliance with quality standards, including ISO 9001:2015.
  • Ensure high levels of internal and external customer service by investigating and resolving quality issues and complaints in a timely manner.
  • Supervise inspection and testing activities to maintain productivity and technical integrity.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to establish quality and reliability standards for finished products.
  • Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams and leadership to support decision-making.
  • Formulate, document, and maintain quality control standards and ongoing objectives, including ISO 9001 certification.
  • Coordinate quality objectives with production procedures to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
  • Develop and implement inspection criteria and procedures to maintain consistent product quality.
  • Communicate and interpret quality control philosophies to key personnel within the company.
  • Oversee inspection processes throughout the production cycle to ensure compliance.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to improve analytical and reporting processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure the quality of purchased parts, addressing any out-of-spec issues promptly.
  • Participate actively in internal continuous improvement teams to drive change and enhance processes.
  • Design and implement quality control training programs for employees.
  • Contribute to the overall safety management program, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
  • Identify and lead change initiatives within the department to drive improvements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 6-10 years of experience in quality management, with a strong focus on process improvement.
  • Six Sigma certification preferred; daily working knowledge required.
  • Extensive problem-solving skills and experience with root cause analysis.
  • Proven experience in coaching and training teams in quality control and problem-solving methods.
